Well, it seems this off-season for the Predators won’t be so quiet after all. Not just one but two trades to discuss today. I guess the Predators GM David Poile woke up today and finally decided to take some action after yet another 1st Round exit.
Trade #1: This one I don’t find all that significant. Dan Hamhuis’ rights get traded to (wait for itâ¦.) Philadelphia. The deal does send Predator…
Well, the Preds obviously are dumping salary to make a larger move and re-signing Ryan Parent is going to be a lot easier as an RFA than re-signing Dan Hamhuis, who is now a Flyer.
When NSH didn’t re-up at the trade deadline you knew Hamhuis was a goner this summer.
Wade Arnott, the agent for Hamhuis, says contract talks begin in earnest on MON. Groundwork was laid this morning, he said….
The NHL has been without a full player transfer agreement with Russia since 2005. This is an agreement that governs players jumping from North American to Russian leagues and vice versa and sets fees for them doing so. This has led to several controvesies. the biggest of which was Alexander Radulov jumping from Saavat Yulaev from the Nashville Predators when he had a contract with Nashville.
Both sides have announced a “memorandum of understanding”. This is not a transfer agreement. it isn’t clear how much of an agreement it is at all. Here is the KHL announcement of the agreement. There is no big NHL announcement on the internet.

The sellout crowd, the unexpected comeback, and even the first man advantage goal for Nashville just wasn’t enough. After one of the craziest 1st periods I’ve ever witnessed, the Chicago Blackhawks had a 4-3 lead on the Nashville Predators in Bridgestone Arena for Game 6. It was a lead they would never relinquish as a John Madden empty netter sealed the series for Chicago 4 wins to Nashville’s 2 a…
The United Center finally saw what they expected, a Chicago win. On top of that, they also witnessed a shutout for their rookie netminder Niemi who has gone from goat to hero in just two games. That’s Chicago sports is it not? The Predators offense struggled against a stifling Chicago D as the Hawks took Game 2 of the series with a 2-0 score.

Game day in the Windy City once again. A quick reminder that I will be doing a Cover It Live blog for this game as well. Just like Friday, things will kick off at 7 pm and ALL fans are welcome. I only ask that we keep things relatively clean when it comes to smack talk and focus more on the hockey being played. I will use this space as the home for that Cover It Live game chat so be sure to re…

It can only be defined as one of the greatest wins in Nashville Predators playoff history. I’m not trying to oversell this win, but when your franchise has never won on the road like Nashville, then that first one is quite big. It’s even bigger since it occurred in a Game 1 since this is only the second time ever the Preds have taken a 1-0 lead in a playoff series. Nashville used a stellar 3rd per…
I invite you to join me and others in the live chat below. We’ll kick things off at 7 pm CST to discuss the series and then at 7:30 watch the puck drop. Hope you enjoy it.
NSH @ CHI – Game 1…
Well here we are again friends. The 1st Round of the NHL Playoffs. What is different this time however is that I’m not breaking down a series against the Detroit Red Wings or San Jose Sharks. Yes, the Chicago Blackhawks and Nashville Predators will square off this time around.
Once again, I have what I consider a pretty complete (and almost too in-depth) preview of the series. Now, this is not…
It was yet another 0-0 tie after 40 minutes in Nashville. This time, the Preds tallied first in the 3rd, but the St. Louis Blues kept fighting, scored, and forced a shootout. 16,702 looked on as Pekka Rinne stopped Brad Boyes on his shootout attempt, securing the Predators their 100 point season on their final regular season game.
