It came about two weeks too late for the Lake Erie Monsters but the Avs announced the signings of Kevin Shattenkirk and Colby Cohen.

Both have signed entry level deals and will report to the Monsters.

Shattenkirk is in the mold of a Brian Rafalski. He uses his stick to get the puck out of the corners and off the sticks of players. He is an excellent passer with an above-average shot and good…
